Japanese Beetles
It's that time of year again. The Japanese Beetles are coming out and they are hungry! Their favorite thing to eat is roses and anything with purple leaves. That doesn't mean they won't your other plants, it just might not be as soon. They will eat the leaves of the plant to look almost lacy. Sometimes you will see the beetle on the plant. To take action against these pests you will need to use an insecticide. We recommend something with the chemical Imidacloprid or Carbaryl in the active ingredients. You can get it in liquid and powder form. You can also choose to spray the leaves or use a systemic version. If chemicals are your style, you can also use a soapy water mix and spray the leaves or dip the plant in a bucket of the mix.
